hey I recently booted my Neoticker software and recieved a warning from my security system that Neoticker was trying to "listen" for connections for other computers. Has anybody had a similar situation? Is this a security problem with Neoticker?

Check out the User Preference, there is the Grid Computing options.
If you disable that, NeoTicker will work as an isolated node.
It is designed for working with the upcoming Grid Optimizer.
