+1

I was just thinking about posting this..... the "Fascinatingly disturbing thought" makes you realize just how minute we, as human beings, really are..... greate video!!

If Stephen Hawking is the "brains" behind what we know of the universe, Neil deGrasse Tyson is the "spokesmen" behind the operation...... i always love listening to what he has to say.

For anyone who wants to fast foreword to the "disturbing thought" go to 7:30 of the video...... :D

The concepts of the video were nothing new to me but it was good anyway.

Dark matter is mislabeled, it should be called imaginary matter.

It literally doesn't exist. except in theory

Funny how that doesn't disturb the atheist who says there's no evidence for God.

That's not true. I saw a few posts this morning made by our racist dark matter. :D

He doesn't understand how DNA works... 1-2 % difference can be huge! Especially when you consider what it codes for.

He also isn't right when he says there is only a 1-2 % difference between us and chimps...

The genus Pan is considered to be part of the subfamily Homininae to which humans also belong. These two species are the closest living evolutionary relatives to humans, sharing a common ancestor with humans about four to six million years ago.[3] Research by Mary-Claire King in 1973 found 99% identical DNA between human beings and chimpanzees,[4] although research since has modified that finding to about 94%[5] commonality, with some of the difference occurring in non-coding DNA. More research yet has been done suggesting 86% or less.[6] It has been proposed, for instance by J. Diamond in his book where he refers to man as The Third Chimpanzee, that troglodytes and paniscus belong with sapiens in the genus Homo, rather than in Pan. One of the arguments for this is that other species have been reclassified to belong to the same genus on the basis of less genetic similarity than that between humans and chimpanzees.

As for the rest of the stuff... We should consider that some laws of nature are universal. So... We simply haven't explored those laws enough. An older intelligent species that got lucky might know more than we do.

Cute, no attacks this am tho. Pondering evidence.
Oh no, not evidence! Like evidence in the 'murder' of Trayvon Martin? Are you doing an investigation that will break the case wide open? :D

Comparing apples and potatoes again. Not your fault tho. I blame your parents:D

If chimps ever became interested in exploring the laws of nature they'd probably get where we are today... Maybe at a much slower pace...!:D

However, chimps aren't interested in that... They can't stay still long enough to try... too hyper! AND this is a big difference between us!
