Need help with xp

after failing to boot to xp I did a repair with the xp pro cd.

Now I cant install my matrox 450, the matrox software cant find it.

In display prop it lists a vgasave with no drivers and device manager does not show any display adapter at all. I reaseated the card and no help.

I think xp is not finding it, maybe something is still bad in xp???

My HD chkdsk ran ok. thanks

did you go to window update and install all update patchs first? also try to move it to diff slot.

yes installed sp2 and updates. I only have 1 agp slot. thanks

in that case only 2 things left either the card is death or the matrox driver is not xp compliance, so you may have to find some second machine to test the card.

I copied my win system and system32 onto this HD from another and now the card shows. thanks
