Need help with multi monitor setup

The Matrox card wasnt in production at the time I was looking for a Vid card... they said on the website when it would be available. I got my NVidia on ebay.

The Matrox "M" line is new. Check for an Nvidia Quadro NVS 440 PCIEx16, or x1... should be a lot less expensive... 1920x1200 max res on DVI, if memory serves.

Do I need any additional cables to have 4 monitor support. I noticed that there are only two DVI connections.

If you bought it new, retail, it will come with all of the cables... two DVI and two VGA. Each cable/port is DMS59, not DVI .... each port on the card supports 2 monitors perfectly.

If you bought the card used on eBay, you need to ask for the cables. Often times, sellers don't include the cables so they can sell them in a separate auction (despicable greed..). If you didn't get the cables, you can usually get them on eBay for about $9, shipping included.

Do you know if the Nvidia Quadro NVS 440 PCIEx16, or x1 is also able to support 4 1920x1200 screens in portrait mode? I can't find it in the specs.

The M-series by Matrox supposedly can.

Don't know. Portrait mode is often the function of the monitor... and there is 3rd party software to help, if necessary.

You could query Nvidia tech support.. or they have an extensive Forum where you could ask...
