now I am using tick charts with ts2000

but after I installed the ts8.1 and owndata

I find the same strategy but different strategy performance

the data r both from globalserver
 
BTW, if you trade on tick data, better use esignal, but then it is not as fast as IB. Tough choice

maybe it is becoz we r in shanghai

and esignal has not server located in china
 
frankly speaking,I don't care wether IB is real tick data or not

what I care about is wether I can backfill the tick data from IB

tws the backfilled data is reliable
 
as far as i know, only ib's LIVE feed is tick. they provide consolidated backfill data, not tick. if you want tick backfill without esignal, i believe IQ feed provides it.
