need calculator or math solution to figure out my cost of stock

hello, I am trying to find a calculator or math solution for stocks that I brought at $12 and it dropped to $9. Let's say i brought 1000 shares at $12 a month later the price drops at $9. I want something that show If I was to buy another $1000 for $9 what will be my current cost if I now own 2000 shares.

Add the dollar amounts of all your transaction first. Take that total and divide by the numbers of shares you own to get an average.

$12.00 x 1000 = $12,000
$9.00 x 1000 = $9,000

$21,000 / 2,000 = $10.50

EDIT:

Another useful formula is the percentage change between two numbers. I always have to Google that one if I haven't used it in awhile.
