O’Reilly will present a CBS internal memo from 33 years ago that praises his coverage abroad. “[D]idn’t have the time last night but would like to say many thanks for the riot piece last night,” the telex reads. “WCBS-TV and WCAU-TV both took the entire piece, instead of stripping it for pix. They called to say thanks for a fine piece. Thanks again. Your piece made the late feed, a winner last night.”

He will also present a letter he wrote in 1982 to CBS News’ then-chief describing how “the riot had been very bad, we were gassed, shot at, and I had the best vantage point in which to report the story.”

O’Reilly will cite these documents as “rock solid proof” that Corn and others have smeared him. “I had to spend hours last night on the phone with various reporters and crawling around my basement covered with dust to find documents from 33 years ago,” he laments. “All because an irresponsible, guttersnipe — a far-left zealot who has attacked Fox News many times before — spit this stuff out on the net.”

Mother Jones put out a report last night about “inconsistencies” in Bill O’Reilly‘s war stories that O’Reilly adamantly denounced to Mediaite as “total bullshit.” But it’s another quote O’Reilly gave last night regarding Mother Jones Washington bureau chiefDavid Corn that spurred the magazine to send a concerned letter to Fox News.

In talking with TVNewser last night, O’Reilly said, “When they verify what I’m saying, because it’s easily verifiable, then I expect David Corn to be in the kill zone. Where he deserves to be.”

Well, Mother Jones was a little alarmed by that and, in a letter sent to Fox and published by Deadline, they said they’re concerned about Corn’s safety:

We welcome criticism, but calling for our reporter “to be in the kill zone” crosses a line. Like everyone in media today, we are concerned about the safety of our staff. We’d have hoped that statements with this kind of violent tone would not come from a fellow media professional.

They want O’Reilly to renounce and apologize for the remark.

He said he was in the falklands, in Argentina, referring to the falkland war while he was in argentina, he never claimed he was on the islands like Corn suggests, this is 100% bullshit on david cornholes part. Here is the video cornhole thinks is evidence, listen carefully oreilly very specifically says he was IN ARGENTINA, he referred to the falklands cause thats the war everyone would know. This is 100% bullshit by the left they are trying to catch an anchor who says a million words a day, based on the fact that he used the falklands as a descriptor of why he was in argentina, anyone who listened to the video understands what he meant.

Listen from 30 seconds, he even clarifies not in a war in a war zone and says he was in argentina in the falklands, he couldnt be in both places so most logical people would interpret that to mean in argentina during the falklands, its a total b.s. trumped up charge of lying from stupid leftwingers trying to parse words.

Just admit "yeah, anything a liberal does must be right and anything a conservative does must be wrong. Facts, deeds and objective standards have absolutely nothing to do with reality. Instead, how I feel is what matters most and the best way to determine anything. Plus, it's easier. Objective thinking is hard."

Yet some semblance of rational thought still remains, enough that they start with their feelings and attempt to summon facts and logic to validate their feelings.

yeah, you hit the nail on the head, i mistakingly went to a few comments sections on this story when i got home last night, and blew a couple hours of my time trying to explain to these zombies why this story is a joke, none of them will even hear a perspective, they are incapable of realising that all they are doing is nitpicking.

In their minds Mother Jones posted a story saying OReilly lied, therefore it is fact. It really is disturbing that there is an army of these little pissants being led around by their nose by the leftwing media, who are completely incapable of rational thought.

I posted the video Cornhole was referring too multiple times, and they are literally trying to fight so hard to smear oreilly on behalf of David Corn that they simply disregard the video that corn himself used as "Proof." I post the video where he says i was in the falklands errr in argentina, which any rational human being would understand, and they will spend hours trying to tell you why what he said shouldnt be interpreted as exactly what he said.

Bill O'Reilly's CBS Colleague Says Buenos Aires Was Not A 'Combat Situation' After Falklands War

Buenos Aires was neither a “war zone” nor a “combat situation” after Argentina surrendered to Britain in the Falklands War, says one of Bill O’Reilly’s former colleagues at CBS who was with him in the capital at the time.

“It was an ‘expense account zone,’” writes Eric Jon Engberg, a retired CBS correspondent, in a Facebook post. “We -- meaning the American networks -- were all in the same, modern hotel and we never saw any troops, casualties or weapons.”


“The riot around the presidential palace was actually short-lived,” Engberg writes. “It consisted mostly of chanting, fist-shaking and throwing coins at the uniformed soldiers who were assembled outside the palace. I did not see any police attacks against demonstrators.”

In addition, Engberg calls into question O’Reilly’s claim that he "was out there pretty much by myself because the other CBS News correspondents were hiding in the hotel."

“If he said such a thing it is an absolute lie,” Engberg writes. “Everyone was working in the street that night, the crews exhibiting their usual courage. O'Reilly was the one person who behaved unprofessionally and without regard for the safety of the camera crew he was leading.”

Engberg said O’Reilly ignored orders from CBS Bureau Chief Larry Doyle to keep camera lights off in order to avoid attracting attention and being injured: "According to Doyle, O'Reilly returned to the hotel in a rage over the fact that his cameraman wouldn't turn on the lights to photograph angry crowds. Doyle defended the cameraman and chewed out O'Reilly for violating his instructions on lights."

Corn said the revelation from the CBS veteran raises further questions about O'Reilly's integrity.

“This account from a veteran CBS News correspondent and a former colleague of O’Reilly -- who witnessed O'Reilly's short stint in Buenos Aires at the end of the Falklands War -- is additional confirmation of what we reported and raises additional questions for O’Reilly,” Corn told The Huffington Post. “Will he responsibly respond to all the questions or will he continue to rely upon invective and bombast?”
