Canada is slowly making it's way to zero commission brokerage. Not sure how the brokerage makes money as selling order flow is not allowed in Canada.
Wealthsimple was the first to offer zero commissions on individual stock but had it's drawback. For one thing trading US stocks required converting to $US to buy then back to $Can when sold.
At any rate NBD now offers accounts that charge zero commissions. As the market has forced me into a high cash position I decided to give them a try.
Any other Canadians here that trade with National Bank?
