Napoleon Hill - Think and Grow Rich

Hehe, I have just heard about this guy on Behind the Bastards podcast. Check the episodes about him out. The Grifter Who Invented the Secret.

"Hill is, in modern times, a controversial figure. Alleged of fraud and kidnapping, modern historians also doubt many of his claims, such as that he met Andrew Carnegie and that he was an attorney. Gizmodo has called him "the most famous conman you've probably never heard of""

I have never heard this about him.
His book was interesting, but those comments blemish his reputation.
Perhaps he thought that he could make some outrageous claims like that to promote himself and no one would catch him doing it in the early 1900's.

This guy ↓↓↓ was legitimate though. He interviewed several prominent people, asking them the same questions and recorded their answers. It was an interesting, easy read. If I recall correctly, he interviewed Norman Vincent Peale in the back of a taxi en-route to the airport. He traveled to India to interview Mother Theresa and she said NO, even after he introduced himself and said he had an appointment. What a bummer.

I listened for about 30 minutes last night and was not interested.
Maybe next time.

Does anyone ever listen to Tony Robbins or other motivational speakers on YouTube?

I don't make it a habit, but I listen to them from time to time.

Just to name a few...
Trading on the Zone by Mark Douglas
The Winning Methods of the Market Wizards by Jack Schwager
Classic Indicators by Linda Raschke

I have read the book by Douglas and I have seen a few of his videos.
It's a shame he died so young.

I have read Market Wizards but I don't think I have seen anything on YT by Schwager.

I have heard of Linda Raschke but I have not read anything from her or seen her on YT. I'll check her out.

Thanks

I like the Don Miller video blog as motivational stuff.

Going back to the original subject, just because Mr. Hill was a scam artist that doesn't mean there can not be some value in his books. Obviously a positive approach is much better in everything than a neutral or negative one. Even in hospital settings, patients thinking positively recuperated faster than the others. And I won't even bring up religion, but that is another example.

Also the channeling sexual energy into something more productive is an obvious advice. But the solution is not "just don't thing about skirts all the time" rather "take care of it quickly, then do something more productive."
