I really want to try this but I want to do it on a stock that doesn't trade after hours to avoid the Gap what are your thoughts on that?
No such thing. Also gap can be caused by news during regular hours and you will still be filled at post-gap price.
What would you suggest instead?
You could try on future options as they are more or less 24hrs...
I have tried it years ago when I first approached options, didn't work for me as i didn't like getting stuck in managing position after a price whipsaw... but I know of some people using similar approach. I think it's risky, as with selling options, you eat like a bird and poop like an elephant.
