I agree, but to be fair, they are entertainers. The average CNBC viewer probably can't copy how they trade or at least manage trades like they can.
Well my personal belief is the edges they exploited have been wiped away once the great modernization began. My uncle worked both the CBOE & CME for two decades. He's rich, but a lot of the traders he worked with are broke. Why? Coke fueled binges and ladies of the night. Once they awoke from their coke fueled comas, they found out that the world had changed and the mispricings and spreads of yesterday were gone. Seriously, if you took an average ET'er and put him back in the 80's-90's you'd see it was much easier than today.
Algo's don't leave much on the table, their creators are much too smart to do that.
Ps....it isn't hard to manage 50 million and earn a living. Try doing that with 100k or less.

You might be right. But if an HTF trading algorithm begins and ends the trading day flat, how does it influence the longer-term value of an asset?
