Terrible advice/ tip... Disagree 100% with this statement! Ones entry is the most valuable component of a trade that dictates the entire trade from concept to completion! Sloppy entry equates to a sloppy trade... When one is correct on entry, the trade management portion is on point as well as the target & trailer... I can`t emphasize this enough!

I don`t believe in critiquing ones MO/ methodology, as to each their own... as one needs to trade according to ones personality traits & phsychology makeup but this one variable of the trade sequence that can`t be stressed enough!

In my 24 yrs of trading, regardless of it being firm money trading Equities, OPM, Options, Exotics, Crude, Put Writing or the Indicies ES & YM... My entry is my most valued trade component & I`ve worked extremely hard at perfecting this art form because of it`s value
in dictating the entire trade sequence!

Like Iv`e said, I don`t usually critique but when you`re on a forum offering expert advice as
a sponsor, their is some editorial/ author responsibility here!

Let me clarify re entries vs exits. I should have said trade management (including stops, size traded etc) is more important than entry decision re do I go long and hit the ask at 22.3 vs 22.4, which is the type of thing newbs get hung up on.

And I'm one of the world's top rated industry experts on ENTRIES, see my 10 years worth of TASC articles on pro entry setups. Of course they're important.

thx...i was able to add it as my indicator. i will check it out on monday and try to incorporate it to my strategy and see how well it works out for me. for <.7 for going long and 1.5 for going short. do you use it on only on etf like the spy or stocks or both?

Appreciate your comments. It is always nice to have folks presenting the other side to facilitate discussions.

I don't know who is right, I am just an amateur retail. It must depend on the specific strategy that was why I was eager to test thing out. For example, in options, if you take a very long view, it doesn't matter if/when you enter, certain trading pattern will be generally profitable. But then on some equity options, entry is critical or you will be staring at guaranteed losses.

You seem like a decent guy but spare me the bullshit on being a top rated expert on Entries because you write a good game and authored some articles... it’s a complete contradiction to what you stated above!

Totally agree, what works for one trader is not for everyone. Key is to TEST and see what works best for you personally.

Usually it's a combination of different strategies each trader develops for themselves. Don't try and copy any one trader's approach blindly, use ideas as starting tips and then test and practice, refine

IC, We are speaking about a traders shorter term time frame... a traders TF.. Intraday or swing!
Longer term TFs would be of a longer TF/ investors approach, imo...

My apologies if I wasn't clear on exactly what I was trying to communicate, my first post was just a starting list of notes .

Main thing I learned is traders get hung up on magic chart patterns and bs indicators, get stopped out and frustrated.
When instead they should focus more on when to take profits or minimize stops...after carefully waiting to pull the trigger on high vol strong entries...make sense?
