I'd say you are far more qualified to answer than I am! Thanks DB.
As Buy1Sell2 has been so kind as to grace us with his presence lately, extensively, I decided to return the courtesy and spent the day on the ES Journal thread with 40D where we went through the process of trading a range from before the open up to the time of this posting. Those who are not yet clear as to how to trade these ranges (this one turned out to be wide enough to make the trades worthwhile) should review today's posts on that thread.
In all seriousness, however, that premkt range is smack in the middle of a range within a range. IMO, these are the toughest conditions to try to scratch a profit from. Like yesterday, I prefer to wait for price to arrive at a more significant level (significant to me). Like yesterday, there has been an opportunity or two, but nothing in a context I find leaning with a higher probability one way or the other.
Were you evaluating the three strategies only against extremes of one sort or another or did you also look at climaxes and secondary reactions?
Yes, this is the case. Wyckoff looked at bigger picture with accumulations taking many days or weeks. These accumulations, and distributions by the way, are fairly easily seen as "congestion" on charts. A form of this can sometimes be seen on the intraday charts as well with the trader needing to trade at overbought/oversold areas that are showing momentum with respect to the larger trend. But yes, overall--Wyckoff looked at much longer frames.OP and others,
My read of Wyckoff is that he was a big picture trader, broad market stuff
NOT intraday day trader
Why I mention this is the one post on the first page listing thoughts or comments minute by minute, enough crap to make my head spin===seems to have nothing to do with Wyckoff
Thanks for the response nursebee. Its correct that division 1 of Wyckoff course deals with the larger moves, however division 2 was written with the express purpose of detailing intraday 'tape reading' trading.
Both can be found over at TL :http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/wyckoff-forum/3877-introduction.html#post68511
What do we see here?
