Lunazon. I swear to God, this is the best thing since sliced bread for my wife. It isn't altogether that powerful, but its like it fills the gap for my wife, who is going through menapause. Without it, she can get pretty volatile. With it, she only gets "regular" angry. Its like it just turns the volume down a few notches without destorting anything.
My wife uses the capsules and they frickin' work. Trust me on this.

Well, first I would lock up your golf clubs. 
Plenty of good advise so far. Diet, excersise, and keeping her away from chemicals are all good ideas. Zen meditation also works for obsessive thoughts but requires dicipline. I disagree about medications. Granted they are dangerous and can have unpredictable effects. In some cases, medication will help the brain to permentantly rewire itself. At least it did for me.
Ultimately she will have to work it out for herself. The best you can do is hang on and try to help.

Just to let you know, I followed one of the posters' advice and took her out of town and we went on a long 4 mile uphill hike..it was brutal and great and she was feeling better...she stopped going to the bathroom 50 times a day, and the pressure in her abdomen and genital area somewhat ceased...More importantly, her mood improved...it was a good week for her...less anxiety, etc...
also, her blood tests and ultrasound came back totally NEGATIVE....
THEN....
On Monday, she went to her last 'therapist' session...
On Tuesday, she was a wreck again...admittedly, less of a wreck, but enough to the point where our youngest son (who is 6) said "something is wrong with Mommy"...and "Mommy's not feeling well"...
OY - setbacks are part of it I guess...
She doesn't take any meds, but she did take some pills a few weeks ago for what the Dr thought was a UTI...She has an OK diet - doesn't eat all that much and doesn't drink enough water...I usually make us fruit protein shakes in the morning and I make dinner (meat, starch, veg)...she doesn't exercise AT ALL, and for the holidays I bought her a Hot Yoga class membership...THAT has to change and she's working on it...
Just brutal though because this is not what I signed up for....If that makes me callous and insensitive, then so be it...I could understand if she had a real organic issue, but I think it's a psychosomatic problem, which makes it more frustrating than anything else...

She needs meds, but it might take some trial and error to find what works best for her. Depression is a PHYSICAL malady that interrupts the brains' processing of signals from the endocrine system. It manifests in different ways - not always sadness & such. Oftentimes it manifests as addictive behaviors, or thoughts that loop over and over. This sounds like what your wife is experiencing.

Your wife has a physical injury that is internal, and that affects her in myriad ways. The drugs are necessary - diet and meditation are great, but insufficient. Its just like if you broke your leg. Its not absolutely essential that you get your leg set, unless of course you want to walk upright without struggle.
If you tell her to choose between her health and you, anybody in their right mind will prompt her to save herself first.
