My Simple CNBC Strategy

"Dividends, whether stock or cash, will not be processed or reflected in the Contest."

I wonder if this means you just lose the value of the dividends...

BTW - is there a list anywhere of the stocks that are eligible?

Thanks

Per Da rules:

To be eligible for trading in the Contest, stocks must have a market capitalization of at least Five Hundred Million Dollars ($500,000,000) as of the close of the markets on March 2, 2007. Stocks cannot gain eligibility for the Contest after March 2, 2007. Stocks that are deemed eligible for the Contest on March 2, 2007 and subsequently fall below $500 million of market capitalization will not lose eligibility for the Contest. Initial Public Offerings that take place after March 2, 2007 will not gain eligibility for the Contest. Limit orders, open orders, short selling, margin buying, and the trading of derivatives, options, bonds, mutual funds, exchange traded funds or other securities is not permitted.

Right, but is there a list somewhere of the above stocks?

i think NEW might be dead, trading was suspended for today.. there's just too much bad news surrounding subprime, but it's not bankrupt yet so there's still hope.

KRY might be a buyout target? could be a winner. it was almost in the last contest.

Wasn't serious. Wouldn't even buy NEW with fake cash.

The way my ports going I could open a 100 accounts and simply manage to end up 100 biggest losing accounts. Seems to me the only way to win is to gamble big. I'm just happy my real account with Sogo is doing much better then my fake one with CNBC. Could be the other way around, that would suck. [/B]

i had googled her earlier today and people on the yahoo INTC were PISSED. A guy posted her address and telephone number.
Its interesting someone mentioned she had over 800 accounts opened. If you run a screen for market cap > 500 million, beta > 2 you get about 800 or so stocks. :) Load up 800 accounts and all in on each stock per account, pretty craft strategy IMO.

Another way you can have gained an edge with the rules is i believe you got a 1000 bucks for refering someone. Refer yourself 800 times and could have been up 80% before the contest even started.

I think it's crafty. We're all trying to figure out how to fit in a box and she's figured out there's no need for the box or to fit in it.

If people have her personal info that's not good.

I think the max is 5 referrals though...
