My Plan For Iraq

Quote from sputdr:

Again, you just can't grasp the concept. Liberal common sense definciency.

We admit we were wrong and the savages feel as though they can beat us. If they feel they can beat us they attack us on other fronts.

To simplify the concept: The savages will feel stronger and bolder. Then maybe they start attacking embassies all over the world take hostages, maybe even start civil wars in other countries to set up more terror states. Kind of like Somalia now.

Do I need to dumb it down anymore for you?

The truth is the truth. You cant run from it, you can't hide from it. The truth makes you stronger, lies weaken you. If their are truths that need to be said, say them. If it emboldens the enemy enough to poke their heads out of their ratholes then decapitate the son of a bitches. We do not ever need Neo-Nazi propaganda lies to mesmerize our slow witted neo-cons into sending other peoples kids to war.

LOL! Talk about simple minded bull shit.

This type of simple minded bull shit is why the Americans are getting their ass kicked in Iraq and Afghanistan by people throwing stones.

Your number 1 means an invasion of "Kurdistan" ( a non-country that never existed in history ) by the Turkish army ( no you retarded idiot, the turkish politicians won't have a say in the invasion. The army will invade the next day) And also an secret invasion by the Iranians using secret agents to destabilize your new "kurdistan".

It's obvious you don't have a clue on how the dynamics of that region work. Also the rest of your child like suggestions are the biggest non solutions ever.

Your Title Should have read

MY NON-PLAN FOR IRAQ - From the armchair bored chickenhawk general AAA :D

Of course the Turks would be upset but they forfeited any veto rights when they refused to let us use their territory during the invasion. They would not dare attack because, (1) they know that would prevent them from ever getting into the EU, (2) their military depends on big subsidies from NATO and (3) we would kick their ass big time and they know it.

You are certainly free to criticize any element of my plan, but the only meaningful way to criticize me is to produce a better plan. So, we have the current situation, which I assume we agree is going nowhere, we have my plan, which will lead to victory eventually, and we await your plan.

Quote from sulong:

What is victory? How will we know it when we see it, in other words what are the objective parameters of "victory" so that we know when we arrive there?

Fair questions.

Victory has two dimensions. Part one is victory in Iraq, which I would define as a more or less functional government that is an ally in the war on islamofacism. Part two would be more complex, but would be characterized by the return of Iran to the community of civilized nations, the destruction of al qaeda and other terrorist groups and the cessation of islamofascist aggression.

Your plan misses the point entirely.

We have not, and are not winning the hearts and minds in the occupation of Iraq, and until that happens they will never be self sufficient and do what is necessary to unify and defend their own country.

Imagine for a moment, that the US is not a superior power.

Imagine France is the dominant power.

They invade the US and remove George Bush calling him an equivalent of Hitler, and they set up an occupation.

You think that would win the hearts and minds of Americans?

You think Americans would roll over and play along?

You think in three years a unified America in line with the France agenda wouldn't be self sufficient, such that France could remove their troops?

(Yes, you can make jokes because I have used France...I could have used China...doesn't matter. I used France because they were vocal about Bush.)

Odd how your plan doesn't include:

All the freaking repugnantcans getting up and saying that they were wrong, and are not to be trusted...

Someone needs to say the "buck stops here" and take responsibility for the screw-ups.

Why does Rusmfeld have a job?

Why are the neocons still having a voice that anyone listens to?

Why doesn't Cheney admit that he was wrong, wrong, wrong.

At least Bush could stand up and say "I trusted these advisers, and they were wrong" and save face...

Instead all we get is the limp dick response of "Stay The Course."

In addition, credit needs to be solidly given to those who opposed the war in the first place, those who voted against funding it and giving Bush the power to wage it, those patriots who protested it also deserve credit for standing tall in the face of regressive neocon repugnantcan criticism....

and all you freaking repugnantcans owe an apology to John Murtha.

He has been saying redeployment months, and months, and months...

and the chickenhawks called him a "cut and run" Marine.

Pathetic...

Finger pointing, the blame game and politicizing matters do nothing to unite us in the ongoing war to preserve our culture. We must focus on the future, not the past. Bush and his crowd will be gone from the scene soon enough, but this battle against islamofascism has the potential to last generations. We'd better put aside petty partisanship and get serious about it.

Total Bullshit.

We NEED to look to the past to figure out where we were wrong.

It takes a new seed to yield a new crop.

Waiting for 3 years for Bush to leave office is not a smart option for America.

Let's deal with the problem immediately, which requires honesty and examination of where we went wrong.

More bad planning will hurt our attempts to preserve our culture worse than petty partisanship. Bush should be impeached for lying us into a bad war and someone needs to take his place that has half a freakin clue about where to go from here. Wesley Clark possibly? Man we need a parliamentary system right now in the worse way. "W" would never pass a vote of confidence.

Quote from AAAintheBeltway:

Since it is apparent the administration is out of ideas, I offer my own plan to stabilize Iraq.

1. Tell the Kurds northern Iraq is theirs, provided they cool it in supporting insurgencies in Turkey. Encourage them to use their new-found oil wealth to destabilize Iran however.

You really think that the USA govt., made up of oil men, would just give away that oil weath to some locals? What kind of bleeding heart liberal are you?

2. Redeploy our troops or bring in new ones if needed to secure the southern Iraq oil fields. Until such time as a stable and friendly Iraq emerges, we will manage those reserves in trust for the Iraqi people. Of course, as any trustee would do, we will take a cut for our own expenses.

See above. There is NO WAY the invading army would give up the oil wealth. Joker.

3. Put most of our remaining troops on the Syrian and Iranian borders. That will both cut down on infiltration and focus those countries attention on the downside of continuing to cause trouble.

How do Syria and Iran benefit from an unstable Iraq? Seems to me those permanent US bases being built there need to be justified...what better way than ongoing chaos.

4. Secure main roadways around the Baghdad airport and capital area by prohibiting general traffic on them and establishing wide buffer zones to inhibit planting of IED's.

Sounds very democratic and free....geez...

5. Concentrate our use of force on the sectarian militias, such as the sadr brigades. Use massive airpower to destroy them, their mosques and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Who do you think lives in those surrouding neighborhoods? Why, it's people like you and I. Why do you suggest genocide? I'm suprised that the Christo-facists running the USA do not think the 10 commandments apply to them. To be honest, the #1 threat to my freedom now comes from the USA and Israel, both use WMD liberally on civillians, the ONLY countries in the world to do so..

6. Tell the new Iraqi government that they will hold office only to the extent they avoid corruption and control violence.

Ummm, that would entail cleaning up the corruption in every Western government. first. Not gonna happen. Those crooks protect themselves well..

7. Arrest summarily any clerics who foment violence or insurrection.

And be sure to arrest people like you too, who support the use of WMD liberally upon people.

8. Expel most of the press corp and make it clear to those who are allowed to remain that their presence in the country is a privilege, not a right, and they will be expelled if their dispatches are deemed unhelpful.

What is helpful? I thought the USA's goal was to make Iraq a Democracy because they love the Iraqi people and want to make them free? Isn't freedom of the press part of democracy?
Perhaps China and Russia could help with the arrest, detention, and torture of non-helpful journalists, since they have so much experience doing so.

9. Tell the American people that Iraq is a focal point on the global war against islamofascism, and that these measures are necessary to achieve victory.

Doesn't every Bush speech already say that? 3 years later, what is your plan for the "Middle East Peace Process? I get it, Israel (funded by the USA) is dropping WMD on Lebannon now because they WANT peace. So all those bad terrorists will lay down their arms, give their country to Israel, and assimilate. That will bring world peace and mean that weapon makers can no longer profit from war. Yes, no more defence coutract for HAL, Raethon, Lockheed, because those in control want PEACE and are willing to risk their political funding by telling the arms makers to take a hike...yeah...

Victory? Like the victory in the War on Drugs? Victory how so, to make people think just like you? If iraq was so bad why after Gulf War 1 was sadddam left in power for almost a DECADE? Or did he get in the way of big oil interests all of a sudden?

Was Gulf war 1 considered a victory? Did the sanctions help and democractize the Iraqi people during those 10 years?

Additionally, we can't win a global war on terrorism alone.

Bush has alienated so many around the world, they aren't going to lift a finger to help us right now.

ZZZ, the global war OF Terrorism is started by the West.

And the west will profit mightily. So many countries lying in ruins now, so many people suffering. Oh, I forgot, all because the West WANTS peace, the "middle east peace process".

Our bombs bring glorious freedom, people will throw flowers at out feet! Their children will sing song of praise.
