My over 6-year trading experience in a nutshell

Quote from clacy:

I would look into longer time frames. Position trading is so much easier than day trading. Granted, it may take a couple decades to compound your money into something significant, but if you find a real career and then position trade on the side, you can become very wealthy.

Well Said !! Also, learn how to lock into the right sector or macro trends example: Gold and Oil since 2000s. Sector rotation while riding the economic cycles is the way to go. But it can be difficult as even the Ivy league Portfolio managers cannot do it well.

Btw, I feel that markets are still in-efficient i.e. if the buzz out there is that 3D Printing is the next big thing, then there is lots of truth to it. Common investor can still benefit from such buzz words floating around. :D :p

If the OP is looking for sympathy he has come to the wrong place

ET is a tough crowd

he needs to quit this destructive addiction before it destroys him

no more second chances

no switching to higher timeframes

swing trading isnt any easier than day trading

either you can trade or you cant

and of the few who can........ even fewer can do it well enough to sustain a living from it.

Personally I'd like to know what the OP's charts look like, not so much any indicators but the bar intervals.. what exactly were you using for charts? Delineated in terms of time, ticks, volume, if so what interval? I want to know what didn't work for you..

6 years

6 days

6 hours

I'd hardly call that experience

you blew your wad

but congratulations on lasting that long

now, go get a real job

and in six years you'll be bitching about that

I doubt my message will be read since there's already 18 pages. I was just passing by. But to the OP:

I've read in a book that creativity was more important then IQ in determining success. Lack of creativity is why you failed not lack of IQ. How do I know you lack creativity? Because you admitted you were a lawyer. Those types are usually big on IQ but low on creativity. Just a thought.

I believe you misread, he didn't say he was a lawyer, only that he studied law and passed on all opportunities. This would be strike two.

Quote from cool 2334:

I am very superior when it comes to study and learning having had admissions from the world top employers and schools in my area of study, which is law. I rejected all theses opportunities, believing and relying on trading

yeah, I guess you are right I misread. Chasing after easy money would be strike number 3 in my opinion.

well that's the thing, most people today just don't have the mental fortitude to read 18 pages.

that's why I always try to keep it down to a few sentences, if not a few words

hopefully someday, we can get back to our roots where all we have to do is grunt or growel

communication has just become so complicated today

you never know who is serious and who is just kidding

at anyrate, lawyers bad, people good
