My option trades

Looks like I'm going to be generally bearish on the market. sold the short 45 puts at $1.50 and now holding INFY oct 47.5 puts and MON oct 90 puts.....I'll have to review this market over the weekend to see if we will at least have a neutral week next week. It's been negative all week, and this week could be the turn of the tide.

Closed out long INFY 47.5 puts at $3.40 so I can buy some GWW oct 220 calls at $2.30 (bought 3). I think GWW is on a clear reversal with positive earnings expected. GWW should bounce by 5-6% and I only need about 3.5% for a profit. Report comes in tomorrow and I'll go from there.

Well I've been paper trading the last two months, or more. I theeeenk I finally have worked out a new option trading system. Very difficult trading the IWM index with such a low VIX of 14 or 15, which is a bull market. I get a signal in the new signal, will try cash, albeit a minnow bite.
In the meantime one of my paper trades just gave me a profit and another one should, either today or Monday I expect. Nice to win once in a while, keeps you coming back ( grin )
In the meantime, alas, been diagnosed with cancer in the neck and throat area ( don't smoke, from forest fires I think ) and waiting results from biopsy next week. Then I have decisions to make, that may make me close my account to accumulate cash. I hate to do that, this is my fun such as it is, at 75 years old.
At any rate, nice knowing all you guys and I won today. Hurraaah!

just saw this, just take it one day at a time, God bless you and your family, keep trading though, even if its paper, keep your mind occupied...:)

totally misread GWW and taking a total loss on the trade.

Opened up IBM calls spread 215/220 for $95 per contract, bought 5 @ ($487.95).

Also bought 2 ISRG Oct 560/570 call @ $2.15, and 2 ISRG Oct 485/475 put spread @ $1.50 each.

Then topped it off with APH calls....Oct 60 calls (3) at 1.60

Yes, big chunk of the account will be tested today with these 3 trades...about $1500 here.

Good luck on these trades, Ryan. I have not been here for quite some time...
Wishing you success, Bryon
ps, i got some APH calls myself, thanks (IBM too overbought on weekly chart, ISRG too rich for me)

LOL .... What else is new?

:)
By the way, Ryan, I applaud your courage to post your successes and failures for all to see.
As for "what else is new?": Ryan's account is up about 100%, that is what's new.

Really good call on CAT so far, up nicely today. I think UPS is another one.

Quote from scottandmo:

I looked at YUM too and my research suggested it would either gap up to $69-70 or it would fall and then recover in the next couple weeks. So I bought a 8x67.5/70 spreads in YUM for $590 in play money and my plan was to close out right away if it jumped, or cover the 70 and hold the 67.5 if it dropped. Sold today for $1585 this morning. Why oh why did I use play money! =)

I couldn't get a read on AA. No trade but accurate read on STZ. I'll try it out again with JPM and INFY as well. Also, CAT is getting close to an almost must buy going into it's 10/22 earnings.

I was looking at ISRG oct and nov vol today. It looks cheap.

4:18 PM Intuitive Surgical (ISRG): Q3 EPS of $4.46, beats by $0.94 may not compare to $3.50 estimates. Revenue of $538M (+24% Y/Y), beats by $3M. Shares -7% AH. (PR)
