I´m feeling my way into this calendar spread and trying to reason it out. It´s getting interesting reading with calendar variations.

I liked your comment on short gamma. I guess I dont picture that term in my mind yet? Will have to read up on it a bit.

Was reading up on these calendar spreads, new to me. Nothing is at the start, as simple as it looks. Sometimes we don´t know enough to ask the right questions. Your reasoning on the Delta comment escaped me, but of course I accept your critique without question. You said no, so it is no. I´ll probably figure it out down the road.

In scrolling the internet, I was startled to read of a STRADDLE composed of two calendars. Got a rough idea of what it does, but not going to understand this, until I run some calendars myself practically.

Best wishes! Congratulations on the trading nephews and nieces. I´ve got my grown adult kids watching me and some of my older grandchildren. With FACEBOOK social family atmosphere. So far I´m only holding on by the skin of my teeth, so got nothing to teach them yet. Mind you, that is a lesson in of itself.

Atticus posted another members personal information on this thread a while back, the mods removed it VERY QUICKLY. He is a stalker and will use any means at his disposal to get someones address. I think atticus is a liability to EliteTrader, not an asset.

Lot's of people did mention it on that thread. In face someone then asked the mod's if what you did was legit. I remember because it was one of the first posts I had seen on this site and thought how this site was full of a bunch of pretenders.

I don't understand why people on this board are so focused on "being right" in front of everyone else.

Well popped in to just say good morning guys and girls. Wanted to see if the ruckus was still going? ( grin) It is! This is a small part of my social life, such as it is. :)

I put three orders in this morning that have not yet been filled. One for QQQ, one for VZ and one for CL. My first foray in a cash trade on CL and VZ stocks.

Was kind of interesting to watch. They run the bar down at the open and bounced back to the narrow mid range. So I put my stock orders in about 3 or 4 cents under the bid. Probably will not get filled today? I learned from the other day paper trading those stocks, that one had to squeeze pennies out of these buy and sell orders, in order to make a profit. Otherwise the bid ask spread and the commissions eat up any profit you might have made. See if I get filled today? Don´t much care either way. Had good patterns this morning.

Rather curious about the calendar selling. Paper trading two. Then also paper trading a calendar straddle. Doubt that would work out, as it has 8 commissions and costs.

Guess I´ll go and read up on gamma shorts. Bye Bye! Luck be with ye today.
 
How did this nice thread start out with Ryan and others posting their option trades (thus the name of the thread "My Option Trades"),
and now turn into a "war of words" having nothing to do with Ryan's option trades or anybody else's.
