My next motherboard

Nothing to report in the last few months. The machine is now running my most important application(s) flawlessly.
I have put going to 64-bits OS on hold. I tried like crazy porting my networking code into Gentoo Linux with no success. Sadly, I have very little experience and expertize with this.
So with that defeat, I decided to simply run under 32-bit 2003 Server and wait for the 64-bit version of Windows Server to come out for real.
I could run the beta now, but I found out that even companies like Intel are not supporting 64-bit drivers yet, so I became discouraged with attempting to be such an early adopter.
No matter what I throw at the machine, it just eats it alive, even in 32-bit mode.

Trying to build my own PC. Believe thats a good forum to post my question:
Could anyone recommend a CPU/Motherboard/RAM etc setup for 2LCDs? suitable for daytrading purposes? I have read the article by Baron posted under "Hradware" but doesnt address the motherboard issue whicj is very important? There is myriad of combinations CPU/Motheboard ou there. Budget limitation is around $1000 without LCDs.

There are many motherboard makers. Any of the major brand names is fine. Asus, SuperMicro, Intel, Tyan, MSI, IWILL, the list is large. However, IMO, with today's computers being near commodities, if you are trying to save money by trying to put together your own system from the ground up I think you will be dissapointed with the meager savings.
If you look at this thread when I bought the Tyan, I bought the barebones and then went to eBay for the CPUs, memory, and SCSI HDs. I believe this is a reasonable approach to take if you want to save money.
The only real reason to getting a MB is to build a system yourself to know how to do it.

What do you mean by "Windows" ? There are no less than eight flavors now:
1) Windows XP
2) Windows XP Pro
3) Windows 2003 Server
4) Windows 2003 Advanced Server
5) Windows 2003 Enterprise Server
6) Windows 2003 DataCenter
Etc...
I believe 3) 4) are licensed for 2-4 CPUs out of the box. 5) I believe is 2-8, and 6) is I believe 8+ with a maximum I believe of 32 CPUs.
I own a license of each of 3), 4) and 5).
Also, MSFT has already said that dual core CPUs will be licensed as one.
