My New Laptop System - Please Critique

Quote from AOL_9.0 Man:

no offense, and you're thinking along the correct lines...even with a restocking fee..

the pixilation or screen real estate will disappear fast! with any charting application, especially for trading purposes...

so, concentrate on screen real estate first....

choose a 17" or higher,
look for WUXGA configuration on the screen or WXGA,

attempt to get higher than 1600x1200 or there abouts...

this way, when you open a charting application, a trading application, a web page, and browser, and two or three more charts, you will still have room instead of be wishing you had room...

ever look at the Lenovo's or the Acer's or the Sager's?

all excellent brands

Thanks, but screen space is not really an issue for me....I'm no chartist... and I can't carry around a 17" monitor.

What I need is a mobile desktop

Also add on Dell's new Studio line which I think of getting.

Studio is noot a performance/workstation line. It's NOT comparable to the XPS line and certainly NOT to the Precision line. if you want a visually appelaing colorful laptop - then Studio is good...but it's not a performance machine.

Do you really think you need a performance machine to run say:

1) brokerage account
2) charting software on multiple monitors

This is a question.

4. I much prefer the TrueBrite glossy screen. I wouldn't get a laptop without it these days.

I haven't read the entire thread so I'm not sure if its been discussed. I enjoy the BrightView on my new HP.

In addition, the anti-reflective technology marketed as Toshiba TruBrite™ is identical to the anti-reflective technology being marketed as Sony XBRITE™, HP Compaq BrightView as well as names marketed by other notebook brands.
