My Move to Swing Trading

I'm similar, I try to do both but I like the burn from scalping on higher cars and staying focused keeps my brain fitter. Swing makes money too just I really like being able to get out when I want to and not have that itching concern over the weekends or when traveling/flying etc.

That's why I forget about the trade after it's placed, and the stops are in place. Nothing to worry about if it's a done deal.

I agree, it would be nice to have a fire and forget more position-trader approach however I found I was making > 40% more money using a dynamic stop I devised. Once I knew this worked I found it difficult not to apply it to everything so old school stops became the past.

What I often do is pass swing trades past a certain point to my trading assistant who's job is to close the trade as efficiently as possible.

OMG... I haven't even touched on the commission issue... uhh let's see... I have gone from an average of at least 5 round trips per day (that's approx $5600 per year / per contract traded) to now one or 2 per month (about $108 / per contract / per year)

OMG, i had more fun daytrading; but much more profit in swing position trading/investing.I believe , knowing the way markets work, Don Bright Daytrading Co had some daytrading millionaires , but that does not help me LOL:D:cool:

update... all three of my swing trades are doing great. ES up 60 points, YM up 600 points , NQ up 130 points. So SO much better than the crazy day trading. I have my stops in place.
