My longshot is

Quote from CaptainObvious:

Don't know what the heck is going on with AVNR. Just took a massive hit and no news out yet. I'm still in, WTF, it's only money.

Man O Man, talk about some serious stop gunning. Drug got approved after hours. Somebody knew something. This is why I never use stops on these longshot type trades. It's all casino money. Don't play unless you're ready to take a 100% loss. Should be a nice ride Monday.

Congrats Captain O!

Yes stops never work. I hardly ever use them for anything. All baby biotech is a gamble as you stated. You need balls of steel. I can post a nice 9 page SHORT thesis that was sent around to the hedge funds... it is possible a lot of them listened which means we have some thinking to do this morning.

I think I will flip it and then buy in again. Because there is the very real possibility of some serious short covering which would exceed what the patient population is for this product. ~ stoney

nice trade captain....i looked at it friday...but did not give it a shot.....

its nice to see a guy put his balls on the line.....in real time

Thank you! It's almost making up for the beating I'm taking in BIOD. Between the two I should come out with a little profit, but not what I had hoped for. Guess it's better than a sharp stick in the eye.

Who knows maybe AVNR will keep running...sometimes stocks like this go up .20--.40 cents everyday the rest of the week

they just try to shake out the week hands on a days like today
its does not matter if AVNR is up 2.50 or 3 bucs today..in the long run

but what a move

Well Stoney, what did you do? Did you sell and buy back, or have you played it like my dumbass, and just watched it go down? I may add at this point, but can't pull the trigger yet. I'll die the death of a coward trader. It's like being nibbled to death by a duck.

welll captain...i hope you did better than i did with AVNR

got a new butthole now

I've done fine in AVNR. My original buy in was at 2.76, have been in and out a couple times and still have a double going with the last trade. I thought it would hold up better today. I still think there's more left in it, maybe just not as fast as I had hoped.
If you're still holding I think you can make some money down the road, but you may now be an investor rather than a trader. It happens!

AVNR

finally starting to move back to the upside....i am getting back some of my money i lost last week..what a terrible week! Now
I am hoping for a change of lifestyle type trade

AVANIR Could be a Target after Approval

AVANIR Pharmaceuticals (AVNR, Free Analysis), a pharmaceutical company focused on the central nervous system, could be a potential buyout target following the approval of its Nuedextra drug. The treatment is for a little-known condition called pseudobulbar affect (PBA) in which patients cannot control outbursts of crying or laughter.

With many larger pharmaceuticals facing patent portfolio expirations, the M&A environment for relatively small pharmaceutical companies with newly approved drugs is healthy and growing. In fact, some analysts, like Tom Bustamante from Ludlow Capital believe that the stock could see the $10+ price point in the near future given this M&A potent
