My "Hijack This" log...

PcPitstop has Gator which is spyware.......Did you intentionally install PC Pitstop? You might want to uninstall it.

Wow. I never would have thought that would be the case. How about AVG's free anti-viral? I just downloaded that this morning.

I don't know alot about AVG, sorry.

I have run several virus scans, and I run both Ad-Aware and Spybot several times each day, but what I'm trying to find are two files which continue to show up as WERULE when PitStop.com scans my system for running processes. They are obviously described differently in the HijackThis log, but they should be there somewhere. I'm pretty sure this is a virus I downloaded yesterday. Thanks.

Alan

Set-up spybot to run on startup, usually what happens is the spyware is also running in the background when Spybot runs its check and Spybot cannot stop the process from running. Running it first thing on start-up usually will ger rid of these types of programs.

AVG picked up crap that Virus Scan missed when I got highjacked.

Can't hurt to give it a try!

I can't get SpyBot to keep the changes to my settings... what's the trick?

Hmmm, you should be able to look in the tools section and check Run on Startup, but looking at my new version it does not have that option. Sorry. I thought it did.
