I've an edge, and by this I'm testing it out.

I understand what you believe. But you don't have to blog/journal about it. You could have sim tested it on your own quiet way, then nobody would have criticized you. But you decided to do it publicly, so who plants a public journal, harvests criticism and comments...

If I were you I would welcome criticism, because you might have overlooked something and they point it out for you...

What number am I supposed to look at on the above to see your progress? The net liquidation value? Or total cash? What did you start with, 1,000,000?

Yes, it started with 1M, and the start date was 2016-07-05 (cf. prev. postings).
If all options expire worthless then my account will be 1,420,043 USD (the "Cash" field(s)).
The current holdings are in the positives ("Unrealised P&L" = 126,870), and their rest value (ie. time value) is 114,839.
More than half of the current positions will expire tomorrow, the rest will expire next Friday.
As said, this is not daytrading.

It's not about criticism generally, no, it's about disrespectful and insulting behaviour.

For the most part, the general criticism has been that your SIM fills won't be accurate enough to give you an idea about what to expect in LIVE trading. You have dismissed all of these objections. You simply want people to tell you how awesome you are because of your SIM trading.

How can you know or judge that? I mean do you know how the IB Paper Acct works?
As stated in the initial posting, IMO it is very realistic, and I don't do any unrealistic things.
It's just this basic thing for me as options short-seller: sell high, sell much...
But one has to do it only for trades that give a high yield. For this I'm using an external program, ie. an option scanner that finds such lucrative trades...

Let me ask you back the same question: Have you executed similar trades in real life? If not, how do you know just how realistic they are? Apparently there are plenty of people here who did both and they came to the conclusion: no sim trading can be totally realistic, specially not with options.

I hope you understand the difference between touch and trade through. If you were sim trading futures, I would advise you to add another tick to every trade to make it realistic. Options can be completely thinly traded and not execute at all, IRL compared to the IB sim...

Anyway, people here just wanted to warn you and you acted hostile....

Well someone already suggested then that you try some live trades, and you rudely dismissed that, which is fine, its your money, but then I don't think anyone understands what you are trying to do here. You sound like you're 100% sure of what you are doing, and yet you aren't willing to go live. You dismiss the voices of caution with your SIM fills, and yet you aren't willing to prove them wrong, and yourself right, since you aren't ready.

This is your journal of course, but what is the point of more SIM trading? If its just for you, that's fine, but it sounds like you want others to comment, and you are dismissing what they are saying.

You only want to hear what you want to hear, and expect that people will give you exactly this. Nobody can force you to trade it live, but you can't force anyone to agree to see things your way. So its a stalemate in my opinion.

Its even worse then that. Its a matter of what happens when you don't get a fill. Will he chase, getting in later? Will he hold a loser that doesn't exit at his price? Its far too easy to say just add a tick to account for slippage. In my opinion, much worse things can happen outside of just slippage on fills.

Trying to understand here..... what are the flaws with SIM trading? Is it a liquidity thing on the options? Maybe he should include a ten% margin of error ie, we wanna see 40% per month.

I have never paper traded. My dumb ass jumps in with both feet and goes for it. It would seem to me however that if you are using the same system that real money is using, one would get the same results. Unless, .....like I asked, is it a liquidity factor?

It's an insult to the intellect to doubt such basic things.
I'm experienced with trading and also with options.
There is nothing special with options when it comes to fills. It is the same mechanism as with stocks. Orderbook is orderbook...
Read my previous postings, as I already have answered such basic questions, and I can't repeat the same answers extra for you...
Let me ask you this: do you know the IB platform (TWS) at all? Have you ever worked with it?
FYI: IB is the sponsor of these journals here at ET... but I'm not affiliated with them, I'm just a customer of them.
I mean, if you think or claim the IB Paper Account is unrealistic, then I think someone from IB will give you the right answer...
And: the IB Paper Account (at least mine) uses realtime data (one has to subscribe and pay for it), not any delayed data.
