I concur with JB3 regarding discipline. Gotta have it. It's not just some "nice to have."

Update for week ended 12/12/2008.

Increased position size this morning (been more than 2 months since prior change) and took just one quick EU scalp off the 1min chart. Don't foresee too many more available trading days left this year.

2008 has gone quickly past my eyes as I look back and for the first time I have had (for all intents and purposes) a break-even calendar year. When I first started trading in 2005, I never expected it would take my 3rd year to be a break-even one. Even when I was fresh off the turnip truck I never expected the road to be this long or cruel - but I could never be happier. I have gotten every thing I deserved... my undisciplined ways were magnified on my P/L statements and lengthened the road to this point. I'm looking forward to 2009 and am excited to continue this journey, improving myself along the way.

I am beguinning my third year and trading the forex but for the moment I am not able to be daily profitable like you....

I still need to do some work on my strategy
 
Thanks mounafia - you'll know not to give up if you want something bad enough but you'll know to give up if it's not right for you. The answers are inside you and not in some chart's indicator. Good trading to you in '09.

This post marks the end of "My Goal for 2008: Trading to Trade Well". By focusing on small improvements, I have made steady progress this year. Each day has offered more opportunities and though I still hit an occasional stumbling block, I'm able to dust myself off and continue that forward momentum.
