My ES junkbox

Long-time lurker, throwing his two cents into the ring. Not a journal of trades so much as a journal of thoughts about the ES/SPY/SPX financial-industrial complex.

These are my thoughts as they happen. I'll consider myself fortunate if I'm right as often as I'm wrong.

These ideas help me formulate future trading plans. They are not trades, in and of themselves. Indeed, when I posit a direction, it's not intended as a directional call per se so much as a theory to test and a framework with which to analyze subsequent market activity.

For example, take this post, my first. I ginned up this image perhaps 15 minutes ago. I'm already much less certain about that call for an UP day tomorrow, partly as a result of this analysis. It's a bit flimsy. But that's also characteristic of a coin toss market.

I know this is a pretty robust, outspoken crowd. I hope anyone who's interested in anything I post will take the time to let me know what they think, for better or worse. I love a good dialectic.

With that, here's idea #1View attachment 173661

I look at the chart and see downturn Thursday, hit upper trend line to short on reduction of volume, thought it was no brainer. Automation went short, we will see I suppose.

Nothing could be finer than to wake up late, the automation is running and you see a reversal on the screen, well time to pack it in and go to starbucks for my Oatmeal and coffee and study risk management, correct some charts and develop an idea I had on different kind of risk management.

Strength of trendlines, I like starting a trendline from Pivot high/low that is min 2 days old and pivot I draw to has to be 24 hours or older, this eliminates for me false signals.

Starbucks? Terrible tasting coffee...to me. Could possibly mess my trading day up.

I go there 1-2 times a day for their regular coffee, once in awhile coconut milk coffee low in calories. I drink huge amount of coffee each day, 2 pots at home and 4-5 tumblers at bucks. I have a disease where one side effort is fatigue.
