my bank account got robbed by the European Commission. Over €700k lost!

Quote from zdreg:
difficult to understand the possibility that they didn't diversify their holding initially or when the financial situation of cyprus was all over the news.
They did diversify, so I wouldn't shed too many tears for them...

Still hardly an argument for Bitcoins tho. If you would store your coins in a financial institution that goes belly up, in a jurisdiction with a weak sovereign unable or unwilling to bail out depositors, your coins would be at risk too. If you would store your Euros cash under the mattress (aka bitcoin wallet) there would be no haircut either.

"How many examples do you want where the bitcoin wallet got robbed?'

your response is a typical non factual ET response. why don't you respond directly to the OP's post, instead of innuendo, line by line.

"At least the money in the bank is secured.."
secured by what? government promises?
money in your bank account can be seized at any time by US government.
explain how the OP is exaggerating an 80% loss.

Keep giving us more reasons why bitcoin will be worthless. All the dumb criminals like you are using it to launder money. If you think it will not be regulated, you are retarded.

Nobody can stop crypto currencies , the free market gets the final word. Can gov'ts make it more difficult to trade your fiat for them ?sure, But everyone who has already made their millions in it will always be able to trade crypto no matter what on various exchanges around the world or peer 2 peer. It's here to stay. Even without the exchange, If you have a btc wallet, I can trade a $100 mill worth of BTC with you in minutes with no central authority. Just like you and I could make a gold deal privately when the US tried to confiscate all the US gold.

Everyone was a criminal who didn't turn in their gold does that sound ethical to you?

What sounds criminal to me is a few guys in a room can decide to devalue everyone's fiat which is essentially stealing.

The 500 Eur is among amoung popular bills for criminal activity because of the large denomination of bill = less paper for drug dealers to haul around. Are you a criminal if you own Euros? USD lol so much criminal activity goes on with any currency so don't go there .

I'm no criminal, I live a very ethical life so don't put a label on all Crypto users.

If this is not a good enough reason to get into bitcoin, I don't know what is.

Yeah right, especially since Mt. Gox (the famous bitcoin exchange) closed its shop and stopped all withdrawals this week :D
