Musk Offers to Buy Twitter at $43 Billion Valuation

So Musk is talking with possible partners to go in with him on the deal.

This all reminds me of the Wall Street movie, i think there is a line in the film when the fat guy [Ollie] says:

"We got the Beezer Brothers out of Tesla coming in with us and im working on the Silverlake boys"
 
Truth be told, I wish he would stay out of it and let the sinking ship/shit just sink.

And LOL to those who got burned by FuckBook/Meta stock too.

As a rule I avoid investing in unscrupulous entities, particularly those who censor free speech and love to enforce cancel culture upon everyone else (we never learn from history do we?).

But... I guess we have a chance now to get some pop-corn out and watch the shit-show. About as entertaining as watching hypocrites complain about Russia violating free-speech, yet the SAME people endorse the SAME shenanigans on the opposite side of the world.

Humans just being humans, like chimps.

I think Twitter is going to be massively successful. There is no better forum for spreading ideas and thoughts for the masses and prominent people alike. I think Twitter will win Web 2.0. I just don’t know how they make money doing it.

So, apparently the woke employees of Twatter are soooo stressed at the thought of Elon possibly asking them to allow free-speech on what was supposed to be once a free-speech platform. The crime to humanity of it all! How DARE Elon do such a thing!

Even on their 'stress day off' they are still overly stressed over this.

I may be wrong, but I think Twitter doesn't have a regulatory requirement to allow anything it doesn't want to post/promote. No free speech/ 1st Amendment rule. The fringe right you seem to embrace is screaming bloody murder but is free to set up its own media platform to vent its Qanon theories and antivax hoaks. Right now, you and your kind sounds like angry pre teens crying unfair. Go ahead sign up for that Trump sponsored alt Twitter thing he's got going...

Same as a bakery doesn't have to make wedding cakes for interspecies weddings if they don't want to, lol.

What will be interesting is whether the Board of Directors has a fiduciary responsibility to the shareholders to place profits before politics.

If there's a legitimate offer that provides profit over and above what is currently in place, is the Board required to represent the best interests of the shareholders?

This has been played out a few times before. Ya gotta look at the all time highs on a stock. Especially (relatively) recent ath's. At least in the eyes of the attorneys.
Personally, I think Elon offered too much. Unless they can figure out a way to monetize the business better.

Monetize the biz better - One way might be to restore people banned for political reasons who have a message that a Lot of Other people want to hear?
But then again, how hard would it be for Twitter to say fine elon, she's yours, see ya later, we gonna carry on same as always right over here at "BirdBox" or whatever name they come up with. How many would stay? How many would go?
