With reference to above post, I did check out on the information and confirmed the same.

There is indeed an IA (Investment advisor), named Matt, who is using Murray's ETF strategy and is currently trading 9 million dollars in his client accounts.

They started trading with one $300,000 account, around two months ago. At present, they have 9 million dollar under their management as his current clients switched over to this new program.

According to them, they expect to reach 15 million dollars by the year end and then shall start taking new clients.

As a matter of fact, if you are not a CTA (Certified Trading Advisor), you can not make general advertisements, hence, Murray is unable to post the information of Matt here.

Murray told me that he is working with a trader (Matt, here) as follows:

• On a Hedge Fund where he (Murray) acts as an “exempt 15 CTA” and
• A Mutual Fund Strategy where this trader (Matt) is acting as an Investment Advisor (IA). Here, Murray designed the ETF strategy but is acting as a "consultant" here.

A few points that come up:

• Thus, being an exempt 15 CTA one can not advertise oneself out to the public as a CTA. Thus, Murray can not say so.
• Moreover, if he (Murray) markets to the public the ETF strategy he is acting as an Investment Advisor (IA) without being one. Thus, he needs to be careful.

Thus, the situation looks complex, and Murray states that he has to do what his client's (Matt) lawyer tells him. Hence, he (Murray) posted the information about Matt, via PM as the it was considered acceptable to the lawyers to answer questions about his legitimacy.

No , not that issue but some other work a published. The orginal system had a 25K drawdown , while this improved version has a 11K.

I normally take the signals off the Futures and then use them to trade the ETF. With the S&P500 example use SPY for buy and SH for sell.

Question, ignoring sales of the product, how do YOU generally perform trading your product's signals on a year in and year out basis?

What happened to I-Master is a good good question. I think it was two fold , one was simply lack of volitility. The other is the growth of the electronic markets. I-Master enters on a stop off the the open and that open got distorted over a period from 2003 to 2007. I-Master is now performing much better again over the past 18 months. Once pre-market volume increased in electronic trading it caused distortion in the open from what a fair market value should have been, because doing that allow institutional traders to get better fills than they should have.

Sometimes a system will do badly for a period of time, even a good one. That is why my trading programs which I am developing to trade client money use multiple system for each market.
