Multiply Charts with IB Help

Hi guys,

I've been trading with IB for a while now, but now looking at using multiply charts and moving to 2 monitors. I'm not sure how to get multiply charts using TWS. What I am looking for; 6 charts, with different symbols and time frames (FB/3m)(TWTR 30m) etc.

I download Thinkorswim demo, (no deposit to open an account) which is basically what I am looking for, chart wise. But since I am in the UK, I can't open an account with them, but can with their UK branch. The UK branch uses a different platform than ToS, for some reason. *shrug*

I have found that you can use Multicharts.com with IB free of charge, but I can't find any info other than a free 30 day trial on their website.

Can anyone advise me what the best path would be.

Thanks EFW

With IB (TWS) you easily get charts with different time frames, 1-minute, 5-min, hourly etc. etc., set up on as many monitors as you would like. As far as I know, there is no limit for how many charts you can have open, only issue will be computer limitations, memory etc.

I don't use IB's charts anymore, due to, for me, to slow to go from a 1 or 5-min, to 30 or 60 min, or even to a daily/weekly chart.

I use https://www.medvedtrader.com/www/frontend, highly recommended. I believe there's a no charge to try it out. Email support, they are the best.

My trading computer has 12 large LED monitors, Most are used for Sierra charts(inexpensive) 1,5,60-min, and daily, with IB feed; 2 screens for IB boardwatch; several IB 1,2,5 min charts; and both IB Booktrader, and Sierra ladder to place trades.

"12 large LED monitors"

Pics. Definitely need pics. I can't imagine a setup that would include 12 monitors that would be useable (that is, not involve a windowless turret room with the rotating chair in the middle of the room and monitors on all the walls). Although THAT would be cool.

Attached shot is more than 2 years old, intentionally out of focus, but should give you an idea of my set-up. I actually replaced the computer a few months ago, with the same brand Stratosphere, by DigitalTigers.com , which still supports 12 monitors, now sadly under Windows 10.

I've got Medvedtrader hooked up to IB on a trail, working good so far - Thanks

WOW, 12 monitors is awesome! a tad too much for me at this stage, but looking great. Are you finding Sierra charts good? What package do you subscribe to, package 3 at $25/m?

Thanks
