Thanks for the feedback. I am going to run some trading tests using IQ and map my trades to IB.

if you need 1 tick resolution, IB data is definitely not for you. They simply don't have it via the API.

As for prices/orders using IQ not being available at IB, that just isn't how it works. It works that way on crypto exchanges, but not on stock exchanges. The datafeeds are not broker specific.

Also, IB does not deliver true tick data, IQ does, among many others.. so just map your symbol IQ to IB in QM, and work from there.... and forget IB as data provider for your analysis for anything below daily.. a good data provider will speed up MC a lot

That is true of trade price but not bid/asks.

no, it works that way for bid/asks as well. IB returns NBBO which is the same for everyone

Lets say we agree to disagree. As a rule I always run 1 tick charts for bid, ask and trade. I wrote a counter to count each tick. No matter if its a stock or futures, the count is different between brokers as well as data providers.

I would be surprised if you didn't see that. IB data is not tick by tick. it is aggregated. Same for many other brokers. Even when comparing two datafeeds that are supposed to be returning every tick, I have seen small differences. That has nothing to do with their trading impacting the data.
