Multi-chart Ripping Off Tradestation

Quote from thrunner:

Tennis was a programmer with the original team at Omega, but I think even he will be surprised to know that he was the inventor of EL. They all agree though that the parrot was the cause of the fall out. :)

this is from the introduction of "Building Winning Trading Systems with TradeStation", by George Pruitt and John R. Hill.

What sets TradeStation apart from the other software packages is its powerful scripting language EasyLanguage. EasyLanguage is more powerful than easy; it really isn’t a scripting language, but more of a full-blown programming language. It can be compared to BASIC, FORTRAN, Pascal, or C. In fact, it is based off of a Pascal compiler and has been around since 1987. Sam Tennis, the father of EasyLanguage, wanted to provide traders with a simple and logical language that required little programming knowledge. In our opinion, he was successful in this endeavor.

This is a quote by Samuel Tennis' biographer. I guessed he is more modest than what the parrot has been saying :
*** EasyLanguage Spoken Here ***
Samuel K. Tennis, author of “Ask Mr. EasyLanguage”, is a
leading authority on TradeStation and EasyLanguage
programming. He acquired this distinction during nearly a
decade with Omega Research. He spent six years as Senior
Programmer for Omega, where he played a vital role in the
creation of EasyLanguage, System Writer Plus and
TradeStation.
As Omega expanded and the need for technical support
grew, Sam moved out of hands on programming and into
customer support, where he trained Omega's product
support personnel to provide fast, reliable technical
support. Then, while coordinating the efforts of the customprogramming
department, Sam spearheaded the effort to
provide nationwide on-site field training for Omega clients.
:) :) :)

What a Muppet.
The very first line on the purchase conditions reads “We do not provide refunds on orders and all sales are final, so don't miss the opportunity to use the 30 day free trial to see if MultiCharts meets your needs.” All the rest is irrelevant.
As there are already 2 threads dedicated to sogodo’s stupidity I was just curious as to why you would want to change the topic of this thread. Does this mean you have finally accepted the blatantly obvious that MultiCharts is not ripping off TradeStation?

Quote from ProfLogic:

Well stated.

I have been using TradeStation for quite sometime. I have noticed that they have not yet improved their product over time and would like to switch over to a better product. With that said, I believe in some ethical standards. Firstly, “Copyrights” are good for 100 years even after author dies, so that is not the answer. It seems that that Multi-chart just steals from everyone.

Moreover, if Multi-chart is different from TradeStation, and both are at different places. Then, why am I being suggested to go to the TradeStation forums when actually Multi-chart is using someone else property? They might have given credit to TradeStation, the main question here is ”Has TradeStation given them the right & permission to use their code & language?”

Please produce something that actually states that TradeStation allows Multi-Chart to use their code.

I think I suggested you contact TS Support the makers of MultiCharts

Quote from gttrader:

The main web site is http://www.tssupport.com/

forum is
http://forum.tssupport.com/index.php
You still need to be customer to post

If you're really that concerned try contacting them directly http://www.tssupport.com/support/contacts/

You could just as easily contact TradeStation and ask why they have done nothing.
I'm sure if there was any copyright infringement they would have acted, it's inconceivable that they wouldn't. I don't buy into the idea that it is because they are in Russia as the resellers are in Germany and the US so that would be no object.
If you really want the answer then go find it.

He is just a whine. Let him have some fun.

Yes I know. He started the thread saying he was concerned for TradeStation's stockholders, then tried to change the subject to Muppet's stupidity and now he wants to buy MultiCharts!

He doesn't want to ask either one. He just wants to create conflict.
