At this point regardless of feelings of unfairness (assuming genuine) an investigation cannot be stopped. Every despotic president (dem if you wish) in the future would demand the same.

It must conclude, Trump made bad calls with Sessions and it paying for them. He made bad calls and hurt himself. He has not been accused of anything and is reaching for the pardon which is by the Supreme Courts own words, an admission of guilt to accept.

It would have been so much better if he had kept to his word and defended himself in the Trump U case in court as he promised he would.

As such, it is an investigation based on inuendo, and is therefor malicious. It relies on bullying everyone and everything around Trump, trying to flip witnesses (witness tampering) with Trump as the target of the singers, or more likely, the composers. The average person would be bothered (bullied) by such a prosecution, guilty or innocent, as it is obviously not motivated by honest discovery, but by dark malice.

In a year the evidence collected will be public record. That is just how the world works, it can seem unfair. I really believe that had Trump defended himself in the Trump U case as he promised he would, some sympathy with a broader audience would be warranted. A few hours of his time does not seem such a big deal now.

The record should reflect this is both personal and partisan. The best way to reflect that is for a consortium of persons and partisans to carry the cost. Then if there is any evidence, in a year, that does collar Trump, the guilty party can be sued to recover costs. Meanwhile, not all taxpayers should be used to fund what is looking more and more like a Mooler-Rosenstoned personal vendetta, cheerleadered by the losing political party, interested foreign agents, and a media standing behind their bully pulpits.

This sounds like the basis of a personal vendetta, possibly included in the obscure motivations of the Mooler-Rosentein vendetta, but unrelated to the allegations at hand.
