1st it is entrapment in my eyes and 2nd they actually never do anything..the only thing hansen gets is the log from the internet chat...but IMO if entrapment is whats needed to get these freaks out of our kids rooms so be it......besides it only really ruined that one guy who shot himself in the head when he saw Hansen and the crew in his front yard..the family is now suing NBC or whoever pts out the program...it actually helps the other numbnuts not do something worse which would cause a more severe sentence...
Here's an idea. There is far more sex between adults and minors in the homosexual world than the straight world. Let's face it, not too many 14 year old girls are looking to hook up with an unemployed bald 50 year old guy who lives in his mom's basement. But there is an organization, NAMBLA, entirely devoted to man-boy sex. It's supported by the ACLU in fact.
So why don't NBC and Mr. Self Righteous Hanson set up some sting of adult homos looking to score 14 year old boys? Certainly these people who are only out to protect our children wouldn't shy off from a confrontation with gay activist groups? I can't believe they would allow young boys to be at risk only to avoid making homosexuals look bad. Inquiring minds want to know.

Are they sick? If so should we punish them?
First of all I will be the first to agree that child molestation should be met with severe punishment. That being said this show is not about child molestation. It is entrapment. The question should be, "Shall we punish people for their thoughts?" Because until the crime is actually commited it is a thought.
If I walk into a bank with a gun concealed in my coat and revel in the thought of robbing that bank, am I guilty of bank robbery? Intent to commit bank robbery?
I would be more interested in solving the problem, which in my estimation is the desire these individuals have in having sex with someone they don't know, obviously don't care about, and the personal gratification they derive from it. Aleve that quest for gratification and you have gone a long ways towards eliminating the problem.
The show is mildly entertaining, but does nothing to stop the real pervs. They're not showing up at someones house. They're snatching kids off the street. The cops need to put some time and effort into that, but then that requires real police work.
I do like the idea about the TV homo stings though. It'd be a riot to see who shows up for that. Great entertainment value as our society sinks into the morass. Yep! I'd be watching too.:eek:
