MSNBC Guest: Blames Chicago Gun Violence On ClimateChange

Former CEO of Playboy magazine Christie Hefner appeared on MSNBC this morning to discuss gun control.

When discussing gun violence in Chicago, Hefner went into a diatribe, explaining how climate change has increased temperatures, therefore leading to heightened levels of violence.

Hefner works closely with the Center for American Progress.

Amazing that this affliction only hits the urban poor and minorities.
 
Considering that the warmer periods on earth have been the ones with the most human advancement and lower amounts of wars/violence..... his argument is flawed in the eyes of history.
 
I've been waiting for that. Need to put the "race card" on climate change and it's a done deal.

If only....we could link HIV to climate change.

Heat makes people grumpier and more prone to violence. This is well known in the behavioral sciences. No one is immune, but some are in better circumstances to deal with it. Taking Chicago as an example, as it has its own thread here, how does the street violence rate these winter weeks compare to summer weeks, say, last summer?
