"Todayâs so called black leadership has abandoned the dream. Instead of a core black leadership calling for prayer for both families in this tragic time, we hear venom, charges of deserved violence, and cries for boycotts and riots. Rather than ask for the country to lean on their neighbors for comfort, prayer and healing, we hear voices telling us to separate ourselves from those in our community who donât look like us. We hear them saying that we donât understand one another; we donât love one another. This black leadership operates on promoting darkness, rather than shepherding their community towards the light.

"Many of these leaders, Reverends, must examine their hearts and look into the soul of their people and decide if the words and rhetoric they are raining down on America are words of healing and progress, or words that cause more anger, hurt, and disappointment. Are these leaders true friends of the communities that they propose to advocate for. The counsel of a true friend does not delight in misery and anger towards vengeance and wrath.
