Mr Subliminal's Remote Trading Journal

This is one of the truely worthy threads to be read!.

(And educational!)

P.S. This post only submitted for the resulting email notification!

Thanks, XGGTrader, DaqTrader and DblArrow. Cloudy weather gives me the perfect excuse to stay indoors this Saturday afternoon, not that I need any. The week was a volatile one both for the market and my equity curve, the latter exhibiting the behavior of a stationary point - hopefully it will be a point of inflection and not a local maximum. For those of you that have forgotten your high school calculus, now's a good a time as any to brush up. In the meantime, enjoy some more limericks which I just whipped up:

An erratic young bungler named Kevin,
Was planning to take Series 7,
As the exam date drew near,
He was filled with such fear,
That he mistakenly filed Chapter 11.

A foolhardy trader at Echo,
Who thought he was Gordon Gekko,
Got stubbornly long,
"What, me wrong?"
Now he's cleaning the floors at Conseco.

A drunk with a penchant for shorting,
Had a peculiar method of courting,
While cajoling some queens,
He'd be selling the beans,
And the rest is not for reporting.

Thank you very much for the thoughtful and entertaining posts. You make more sense and I would venture are more truthful than 90% of the posters on the board. Keep up the good work.
I saw a good tee shirt for you the other day, simpley said-" I am the man from Nantucket....

As you may have already gathered, I am an avid soccer fan and for the next few weeks will be faced with late night live broadcasts of the World Cup matches from Korea/Japan commencing at 02:00am (USA ET) and conveniently ending at about 9:20am, together with the usual daily trading. They say politics should be kept out of sport, yet as I watched Germany trounce Saudi Arabia 8:0 this morning, I could not help but associate the Saudi players with the 9/11 hijackers.

On a different note, the following true stories illustrate the current public sentiment towards Wall Street :

1. The US Post Office just recalled their latest stamps which had pictures of prominent stockbrokers on them. Apparently people couldn't figure out which side to spit on.

2. For many years, Merrill analyst Henry Blodget would plan a yearly weekend getaway at a mountain inn, where he would rendezvous with the innkeeper's daughter. Looking forward to this year's trip, he departed with his suitcases in hand. When he arrived at the inn, he made his way up the stairs to his usual meeting room. The door was open and he walked in glancing at the innkeeper's daughter sitting on the bed. There she sat with an infant on her lap.

"Who is that?" Henry asked.

"It's your son," she answered.

"Why didn't you write when you learned you were pregnant?" he cried. "I would have rushed up here. We could have gotten married, and the child would have my name!"

"Well," she said, "when my folks found out about my condition, we sat up all night talking and we finally decided it would be better to have a bastard in the family than an analyst."
too funny......

if you ever decide to do standup - let Elitetrader know. I'm sure a lot of the poster will pay top dollar to hear/see you on stage.

Trading conditions of late have been quite difficult or is it just me?
I've always admired Art Cashin. Today was the second time in as many days he mentioned the mini-hedge funds (or "boutique" hedge funds) as if they were the cause of all evil and volatility. Surely this is not a new phenomenom - what's his agenda?

nitro has a very nice setup (5 flats). I trade 3 stocks only, so my setup (attached) is more than adequate.

P.S. Yes, DaqTrader, France, Italy and Russia have fallen and USA is still in there

Made a few shekels today and am forcibly shutting down the old Presario before 3:00pm. I will leave the whipsawing and triple-bewitched future spikes to other more hapless souls. Off to sleep.

Although they lost 1:0 to Germany this morning, I take my hat off to these athletes for giving it all they got. They looked great on the field and well deserving of world respect for their achievement.

Great Job!

I thought the US game was much better than the Englad-Brazil game - Fast pace with lots of scoring opportunities. We could however use Owen, Ronaldo, and Rivaldo to put a final touch to the numerous opportunities both the Germans and the US players had.

Now, I will be cheering for Senegal!

I hope to see Korea and Senegal at the final, but more likely it will be Spain and Brazil.

Covered my AMGN short just in time.

Time to go to bed :)
