Moving to New York to work on Automated Trading - want to work in a team

I reside in Orange County, CA, but trading is my passion, and I've got to get around a big trading environment.

I'm particularly interested in automated trading and want to work with others on related projects, can anyone give me a recommendation on where I should look / or does anyone have any connections?
