Regarding fear--- I am read by several hundred thousand on a daily bases and have been published daily on the front page of yahoo finance with millions of readers for over 2 years in the past. I provide content here for different reasons.

.... Did Yahoo finance have some kind of editor when you posted - something to keep dishonest story tellers and nonsense out of their site? How did they implement it? Baron could copy their method. Surely they had at least a spelling checker?

Since you're idol-ized by millions of daily readers, what then is your core fear with this site not accepting your future content or reasons for it? There is always yahoo finance as a content fallback for you. I read Yahoo finance daily as well.

Nah..it's to tell us he's raised 30 mil over 11 yrs. That is very impressive. An avg 0f 2.7 million a year is a ton of AUM in the Hedge Fund world.

I think Paulson has 4 million of AUM in his largest gold fund.

Yeah Surf, I have been acting very angry. You on the other hand have been calm cool and collected.

The great thing is in the near future Baron could just ban you from this thread....you can whine, cry, kick and scream somewhere else.

Quote from marketsurfer:

Only in an ideal world. Vigilante's patroling the streets armed with AK47's will deter crime also--- but the abuse potential is very real making the vigilante idea mute. The same thing goes for internet sites. Baron is going AGAINST HUMAN NATURE if he actually implements self moderation on this site. If anarcy worked, we wouldn't need governments to ensure dissentng opinions are heard. Elite will become a generic waste of time once this is implemented.

I still believe IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. Baron will see the light and realize that ramped up site moderation by third party moderators is what is needed, NOT self moderation by every thread starter.

The weirdist part of this entire thread-- is BARON is listening to a few trolls who want to squelch anyone disagreement--- the MAJORITY according to the survey above WANT NO CHANGES to the site. Why he would give in to a few angry folks who can't support their own ideas without having mod powers-- is very odd.

Yeah, you are right. He will listen to you over the majority of the people who posted here. I mean you have brought nothing but positive things to ET. That whole ordeal where you got banned for that crazy back and forth that involved lawsuits and threats was great for the site. I'm sure Baron just loved dealing with that.

His decision will be great for the site, and unfortunately for you, EMG, and a few other bad seeds it will mark the end of your existence on here.

Like I said:

START YOUR OWN SITE

You are a big wig in the finance media industry read by billions, surely you can get the support needed to get that going.

Quote from marketsurfer:

I'm not worried. It's not going to happen. There's no way Baron will self destruct the site in such a way. I think he is just placating the malcontents. I support greater moderation, just not self moderation. Peace, surf

I read yahoo finance and your tradingmarkets piece is not a daily occurrence. It's not even weekly. on what assumptions do you base your "I am read by several hundred thousand on a daily [sic] bases"

I said in the past. I haven't written for TM or yahoo since 2010. From 2005 to 2010 my material was featured on the homepage of yahoo finance---- now I'm syndicated with a byline, without a byline, and as a ghostwriter for a CNBC personality and two CEOs of financial firms. Any other questions?

"Prolific vendor types with agendas not a single case has been proved, you suspect anyone who uses technical analyses of being one so you have run around the site for a long time accusing anyone and destroying debate.

You are the troll yet you call every one else the troll, you are the crap trader yet you call every one else the crap trader, you are the worst content provider yet you call every one else the worst provider and you think yours saves the site, I have lost count of the times you have called me a vendor troll ta loving fraud, I would have lost my patience with you a long time ago on another site, but now I have a name for you..Finished.

Quote from marketsurfer:

Self moderation will result in very generic stupid conversations controlled by vendor types who only say things folks want to hear. Right now we have the ignore button. This personalizes the site to your liking. It doesn't give blanket power to the prolific vendor types with agendas to quash dissenting opinions. That is simply wrong and will result in the sites destruction. Just look at the stupidity on the sites with this feature.

I totally agree--- it's a tiny amount of money by hedge fund standards. I just get thrown some bread crumbs when the whales feed. However, for a country boy from the country23929157side of western PA it's enough so I can do what i want, when i want. and can afford a few nice things---- by the way, I have been in the fund biz since 2005--- how you get 11 years? surf

Yeah, why is it you think virtually no one here at ET is either impressed with or gives a shit about your claims?

Hey Surf,

If you don't like it leave and start your own site. I think I heard that somewhere else recently .

Quit whining and accept the decision made by the owner of the site.

Or you can still post here, and when you go off on your rabid meaningless rants which have no substance you will get the boot.

Quit acting like a spoiled 8 yr old. Wah wah wah.

How about a $50 gentlemens wager that this feature will not be implemented within the next 6 months? If you win, I'll meet you at burgerfi in delray with the cash or Paypal you. The same goes for you. Don't pose and try to change the terms. Are you on?
