How Should ET Move Foward from here?

  • ET needs to implement lots of new features, like Facebook, LinkedIn and other social sites.

Not sure what you arent getting here. This idea would work in every thread. I never said it is used elsewhere. Its a suggestion I thought of but not seen. not sure why you need to see it. its pretty self explanatory.

Another easy improvement would be to clean the ET sewers... quickly and aggressively ban posters using gutter language.

Does the ultra-low IQ / high-school dropout crowd that can express itself only by spewing four-letter words really add any value?
 
I think its all an act on his part. A very stupid, annoying, and reckless act. All he is trying to do is draw attention.....bad attention. Makes him look real bad. I dont think he gets it.

Like you said, he wouldnt last too long out there if he really was like this. He wouldnt have made through a full day on the trading desks ive been on.

Yep, its a simple enough concept.

Agree with you, jack larkin, sheda.

Some form of OP self moderation would be a great tool to keep stupidity from wrecking threads.

I know i would be back here posting. Seeing these annoying posters pollute good threads was my reason for leaving. I know for a fact im not the only one.

As far as new features go, didn't you guys just try to update the forum software to something other than the 1990's look only to have it completely implode?

I'd say "baby steps" might even be too fast for ET.
 
Keep this part of the message board the way it is.

Clean up the home page and ditch the reviews.

Add a section on the home page where you pay folks for content articles that you review. Sort of like seeking alpha.

Allow the above articles to have a dedicated thread in the forum for each article.

Rinse and repeat.

The moderation has gotten better. Keep it this way, sort of light but serious.
