Moveon.org has got to be shut down!

Quote from dbphoenix:

No more so than your question . . . :p

I didn't say the democratic party was a cult, I said that moveon.org seems likes a cult. The way they aggressively massage their image with the media. The way they encourage members to recruit others and say good things about them. They way they ask all their members for money. This is exactly what scientology does. I can't remember the last time any other organization on the right or the left, that had this kind of approach to running a non profit group. Seems awfully suspicious to me.

Sure sounds like the Repubican party to me . . . :p

LoL, I got a hearty laugh out of that one!

Let's see.

Db: Bush went after Hussein because he didn't have the balls to go after those who were actually responsible.

Me:Responsible for what? If you're talking about 9.11 (and watch db pull out of this one!) then er... were you like living in a cave or something when the US went into Afghanistan?

Db: Which has what to do with Hussein?

Me: (???) You tell me me duh-bphoenix. Who was it that Bush didn't have "the balls" to go after?

Quote from Maverick74:

Is it me or does moveon.org remind you of a cult?

MAV BABY!

It's definitely you.

Time for you to move on to other things!

PS. I deleted the PMs without reading them

I didn't think you were capable of seeing the similarities between moveon.org and scientology.

hmmmm, but... but... weren't the similarities between scumya and hitler more obvious?
:D :D :D

Quote from Maverick74:

"Second, we need you to get the press back on the right track. After you've corrected the negative accounts, write an upbeat letter to your local paper about the exciting and positive aspects of the contest and the finalists. These ads reflect the courage, hope, and deep patriotism of our membership. They're creative, passionate, and totally unlike most of the political ads that are out there. And perhaps most importantly, they were picked in a democratic way. Now that's a story."

"By sharing that URL with your friends, family, and colleagues, you can help to make sure that the RNC isn't successful in stealing our finalists' glory."

"Obviously, MoveOn.org and its 1.7 million members are now on the right-wing radar. They are going to do everything they can do to silence us, and we simply won't let it happen. Smear tactics and campaigns of misinformation have no place in American democracy."

Are you telling me these statements don't remind you of the same strategy that the church of scientology used a few years ago when word was getting out about them? In fact I think these were there exact statements plus or minus a couple of words. Just very similar.

These are typical liberal tactics that any casual listener to talk radio is familiar with. Rush calls them "seminar callers", meaning they were instructed how to get on the air and what to say. I thought he was paranoid, then I see this.

I am a big fan of the new media, but it is very vulnerable to this sort of deception. I was reading car reviews on Edmunds the other day. A particular SUV had half a dozen intensely negative comments from supposed owners. It swayed me a lot, then I got to thinking, how do I know another auto compnay didn't post those comments. When I read all the IB bashing on this site, I have a similar reaction. Everyone loves IB for years, then a few aggressive competitors pop up, and suddenly every other thread here is bashing IB. Makes you wonder.

There's nothing particularly "liberal" about them. In fact, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that the Republican party itself is behind this flap in order to put Democrats in a bad light. It wouldn't be the first time they've tried it. Even if "moveon" is legit, it can be used just like any other organization.
