Movement/Trainees on EUREX

heres my stats for today thus far at 10:30am pacific, having started at 5:30am.
89 RT's +420 euros
at my peak in 2007 i did 3000 RTs a day. over 9 years scalping estoxx in total, never a losing month.
if someone who works at an HFT firm reads this and is looking for an experienced estoxx trader to run their algo, give me a PM. because this point and click scalping game is over.

Thats my point entirely.Shame really , as its killed off many peoples way to earn a decent living.But such is life.
What other markets are you looking to trade? ( point and click) not Algo, now that EUREX is about as appealing as chosing dogdirt to put in your cone for a ice cream filling.

Only those who refuse to adapt to changing market conditions and/or markets.
Bunds will come back, the volatility will come back and the volume will be bigger than ever. Just wait till rates start to rise, granted that might not be for sometime but be patient and in the meantime use your trading skills to trade more markets where something is happening.
PS. For decades Dollar/Yen was a great trading market, volume, swings and volatility, the cross had it all.
But over the last 5 years it's become a shadow of it's former self. The point I'm making is markets as much as price revolves around cycles. In the meantime the guys who used to like trading the cross have moved on to other markets and I doubt their profitability has been hurt that much.
Same with Nasdaq stocks and the index, look at it in 1998 and now look at it. Bunds is no different.

I have changed by style of trading bunds.I position trade now and look for 8+ ticks with only maybe 5 trades maximum a day- not in and out all day long grabbing 1 or 2 ticks churning out 1000's RT a day.
Wait?I cannot afford to just idly wait around for what could be years for any sort of change.Im talking about now, 2012.
I agree that the action will hopefully increase again once rates start to move.However a hell of a lot of guys have left and still leaving, so when rates start to move there are alot fewer people to trade and create this dogdirt volume.
What exchanges/contracts do u suggest to look at which are non dogdirt with both volume and good ranges?

Just checked the data for today and guess what-History has repeated itself.FGBL stuck in a 15 tick range on very low volume for 6 hours, then 1 good move, when 69% of the volume (as of yet) traded, and now stuck in a 10 tick range again on low volume for 4 hours.
This appears to be the norm since beginning of feb:
small range/small volume for long periods of time
1 big move in short space of time with 70% + of daily volume
Then back to range trading for long periods of time on dogdirt volume.
Its just knowing when that 1 move will come i guess, same happens on eco releases- spikes on the data, then just range bound.Reminds me how the market used to trade back on Bank Holidays.Now everyday appears to be a bank Holiday or the run up to xmas etc. Total Dogdirt movement, so just going to put a sell order in now ( and hope these 00's break before the close) and turn screen off , as its so mind boggingly boring looking at an order book all day-plus the pub and the soccer calls!!!

I no longer use TT- its overpriced.It used to be the dogs bollocks a few years back when I was actively scalping ( need to see the book and the size of bids/offers etc).However I position trade now, so TT is surplus to my requirements and reduces my overheads to the tune of £7k a yearby no longer needing it.
