Mouse or hotKey prefered in trading

Quote from ksonsinc:

Dear ET,s
Can you please tell me if you prefer to use a mouse or a keyboard ( hot keys ) while trading putting orders etc
and also tell me what are the advantages and the disadvantages
thank you

P.S i am currently thinking of trading in few weeks at a prop
and i like the mouse set up cause i have never used hot keys make be that is why i am a little nervous ( errors on keys )
Feedback is greatly appreciated

If your market maker box allows you to click on a quote with the mouse and hit enter to send the order with a preset size, this is a nice way to move some shares. The real trick is hold down enter then just click on everything on the offer, if you need to buy shares quick that should do the trick.

Hot keys are prone to errors and can take some more time to send depending how good you are. If you are scalping nasdaq with some size I would say the mouse/enter key is better.

Hot keys do have some advantages for placing different kinds of orders. So I would say a combo of both mouse and hotkeys is best.

It actual depends on what I want to do at the moment.

If I tries to adjust an order, I like mouse control better.

If I tries to place a new order with known specs, I like hotkeys better.

thank you for you feedback
i personally think i am more comfortable with the mouse but if i already have a setup then i would go for the keyboard but less see what software i will be using as i am a nasdaq person and i prefer scalping
