Mouse (Cord vs Cordless)

So apparently I do not get double entry (if I am trading 1or 2 lots, the mouse entry

would enter 2 or 4 lots sometimes) on lots anymore since I changed to a mouse with a

cord. Is it that wireless mouse is susceptible to lagging? I tried to correct this problem

for several years now but now I know, sigh. Anyone else ever had this problem?

Let's say you click the mouse just one time.
but because the mouse is faulty / dirty, you are actually clicking 2 or even 3 times (a very common problem).
smash the mouse to death and go get a new one.

Now I am not having any issues with my "corded" mouse so that's great!!! An interesting point

If you have any doubt about your hardware, change it asap.

Spend about 200$ for a corded mouse and a mechanical keyboard. It's really not that much money and losing money because of rubbish hardware is probably the dumbest thing to do.

What are the advantages of a mechanical keyboard (besides durability) for trading? they seem to be louder and have longer key travel

it is more reliable.

there are many types to choose from;
some loud sound, some soft sound.
some long travel, some short travel.
some very stiff. some very gentle.
....

and all mechanical keyboards are more expensive.

I was afraid for that too for many years. Till I used a cordless one from my son.
The cordless one is more accurate. If I put it on my charts on a position and remove my hand from the mouse, it stays on the position. If I do that with a corded mouse, most of the time the mouse still moves when I remove my hand because of the tension on the cord. Very annoying.

I bought a cordless for around $20 and it works on 2 AA batteries. It works for many weeks, even months while using it intensively for at least 12 hours a day. I always have 2 extra, loaded batteries to replace when needed. Replacing takes just seconds. So weak battery is no issue at all. And no annoying cord anymore.

As @maxinger said, they are more reliable and you know instantly when a switch is broken so you can replace it. Membrane keyboards may hit the dirt on one or two keys, you probably don't even realize it and you have to replace the entire keyboard...no way to repair them.

In the long run mechanical keyboards are just better and cheaper. A Cherry red switch is about 50cts
If you're worried about the noise, just get silent switches like Cherry MX Brown

@vitrusa to each their own. I just could not go back to cordless after my experience. I always

imagine trading clients' funds and instead of 10 contracts, 20 is in the market. How would I

explain myself to them? Not to mention the idea of trust issues with the mouse which is an

adverse effect not needed. I do not mind the cord, I just hold the cord in my right hand while

trading. Only need one hand to enter and exit orders any way .

I like the wireless vic tsing gaming mouse. Of course I also have a wired one near it as backup.

Great mouse

Was getting double clicks from my logitech gaming mice, frustrating.
