I only trade GOLD, it's very volatile
Gold is a nice long term buy and hold here at $1811.
serious answers for day traders.
Great for day traders :
- various index futures from Asian / Eur / US regions
- commodities like NG, copper, oil, gold, Heating oil, RB gas ...
not suitable / not great for day traders :
- all food futures
- bonds (unless there is interest related news )
so so for day traders
- major currencies
I usually trade it when there is nothing else to trade

interesting thanks. I have no interest in sitting at trading screens all day anymore after trading for 21 years, it makes no sense to me from a financial or health perspective. Now my trades last from several days to weeks/months.
great moves. Brent Crude touched 48.60 in the Feb21 contract, it's nearing my 50.00 target could get there by end of this week. I am out at 50.00 as that will be mid-range and it will no longer be a good long-term buy for me there. in fact if I shorted commodities 50.00 would be a good short but I only long commodities in the long term book.
I've been watching some nasdaq stocks in the $1-$10 range, boy there is opportunity there, insane opportunity. KERN popped to 4$ yesterday, easy, easy trading if you have a reasonable account and patience.

There is value in what you are saying and you are right to be suspicious of everyone on a trading forum and the whole industry for that matter.
Having traded for so long I do have a very good grasp of all the asset classes I would say apart from stocks, I have traded them in the past but not a great deal, the majority of my volume has been in futures.
I guess what I was looking for was if anyone new any extremely volatile instruments, like insanely volatile that I could get in. I thought maybe some new crypto deal or some obscure options that someone is in.
Where there is movement there is opportunity.
I have researched online and found lots of retail traders trading nasdaq stock I the 50c to $10 range, they are screening premarket for gaps and max price change. While they mess around on their 1min charts I can apply my experience to trade it in a different style. If I long one of these stocks and I am prepared to add and wait the only risk to me is I lose the whole position, which is nothing.
