I thought that the horrendous projects being knocked was a good thing? Anyone in chicago (with a bulletproof car) ever been here?

It's a residential neighborhood with houses. You wouldn't want to buy property there, ever.

When did the neighborhood go bad and what was it like before? Was its fall a result of the projects falling?

I can confirm. Chicago is a great city but some neighborhoods and suburbs are complete shitholes.

Harvey started to transition during the 70's and 80's. Like so many other communities white people over reacted to the first blacks that moved in. People moved out faster than working blacks could move in. That made room for the niggers, who then drove out the blacks. What's left is the niggers.
The political machine in Harvey has always been corrupt, like most in the area, so there was no help or leadership during these times. The complete destruction of industrial manufacturing during the 80's thru to today has just exacerbated the situation.
