Obama ran up the debt by 9 trillion, had the federal reserve going hell bent for leather supporting him, yet he still had the worst economic recovery since the great depression. Then as soon as we're rid of obama and trump takes over, the economy takes off. I can see where that would really gall some people. Their economic charade was unmasked and it's very hard for them to deal with it without being triggered.
