'Mortal danger facing society': Billionaire philanthropist unloads on China

He knows not of what he speaks. That is what money does to you.
No. Money begets distance -- what you take from that heightened perspective may be 'objective detachment' or 'practiced ignorance' -- which one depends on the person.

Georgie 'been around -- he's weathered the absolute worst of mankind in the last 100 years. And if you don't give him that, *you* are the one that's missing out.

Regardless, the China thing has been hanging out there for *anyone* to see, since predating Tiennamin Square. I have been warning about China vis the South China Sea for over 10 years.

I just watched this last night -- it's solid:

Don't worry. Very soon all of the regimes in the world, democratic or non-democratic will be using artificial intelligence to evaluate somebody's "threat" to the government. Everybody criticizes China but all of the crap found in China eventually find their way into the West. It's just a matter of time.

"Its just a matter of time".

Unfortunately its not.
Enjoy the read.

I've never paid Overnight a penny or even met him.
Whatabout halfpenny?

I'm pretty sure @Overnight is a paid poster by @Baron meant to drum up views. No offense @Baron I understand you got a business to run.

However the dude has clearly lost it, I've read some of his/her/it earlier stuff and it wasn't bad but the recent stuff is completely bizarre.

A.) No need to drag Baron into the muck of our silliness. And to insinuate that Baron would actually pay people to post stuff on his forum? That is quite insulting! Sheesh! People actually pay HIM, through sponsorships, for more prominence! Me? I try to spice up forum life, add a little droll to an otherwise bleak existence. What I try to do is get people to question their own beliefs about this, that or the other, and not take everything as an iron stamp on WHAT MUST BE.

B.) @sle The line to which I was responding... "Soros lashed out at social-media giants Facebook and Google. He compared them to gambling companies that foster addiction among users and said that they exploit the data they control..." which themickey posted, and which you called me out on, is a clear indication to me that you do not understand the context of what I am on about.

Places like Facebook and Google are not comparable to gambling venues. They do not foster addiction. You can choose to use those sites, or you can choose to not use them. Just as you can choose to not play a lottery ticket, or visit a casino. A casino will foster addiction by serving you free alcoholic drinks, comping free rooms to stay overnight, etc. FB, GOOG and others of their ilk do not do such things. In what way could they to make their sites "more addicting"?

Just because the venue is there, does not mean that they are fostering the use of the venue.

That is what I am on about, and Soros should KNOW this. But he is playing second-fiddle to all the people he's screwed-over though his decades of shenanigans, and it comes off as a cheap distraction, to what end I cannot imagine.

I am going to continually go on about what the true issue is regarding what Soros is not understanding, but SHOULD know...

Addiction comes from within, NOT from without. Do not blame the venues, they are there to make money. Blame the people who cannot control themselves.

Addiction is related to dopamine and does come from within, but not the way you're saying. You show a complete misunderstanding of human psychology and physiology.

Mmm. So if dopamine is related to addiction, yet dopamine cannot cross the blood-brain barrier, then you are saying that dopamine causes addiction?

Clearly, you also do not understand human physiology. Hell, nobody does. If they did, addiction would not be a thing at this point in time.

And fine is fine. If you and gauss want to be on the same page about it, so be it. But I am sorry man...
No, you know how to trade your money with limited risk. YOU ARE NOT GAMBLING! Ug, throttle you!
...... Because that is me slamming the table. And I am slamming the table at you guys! Trading is not gambling. (and the Fed is asleep, too, again, hehe.))

Why does trading talk devolve into gambling discussion? TRADING IS NOT GAMBLING, FOR FUCK'S SAKE!
I did not censor that curse because I am lividly adamant about that issue! If the mods want to put me in a time-out, then so be it, but, kids, please look away...Trading is NOT GAMBLING, GOD DAMN IT!
