It was the pos Democrat Durbin from Illinois that pushed it the strongest because his state is a big corn growing state.

The Earth's crust averages 40 miles in thickness. We have only gone down 5 miles. There is tons of Oil waiting to be discovered.

The best thing to do is go find the Oil but Tree Huggers don't like that idea.

We need to quit the screwing around and embrace a nuclear base for all domestic electrical power. Fast breeder and/or thorium cycle. We have had the technology since the 70's... We should have been at 90% of our domestic electric base load from the atom at the turn of the century. We should not be using any oil or natural gas for terrestrial electrical base load. This is the first step of many required to give our kids a future...
